Downriver Waterproofing Specialists waterproofed a wall for my mother in September 2004. We were hesitant to go with outside waterproofing because of the immense landscaping on the outside of our house. The owner (Joe) said that when he was done, it would look exactly as it did before they started. Well, we went with it, and true to his word, you couldn't even tell they were there when they left. They spent several hours making sure that we were 100% happy. I told Joe that he should open up Downriver Landscaping Specialists and he laughed. His company has now waterproofed both of my neighbors' houses and we are all very happy.

Downriver Waterproofing Specialists waterproofed our whole house in August 2004. They did a superb job and we are very happy. The most impressive part of it was the employees. Around Christmas 2004, we had water pouring into our basement. Our walls are poured concrete and the water wasn't coming in through cracks in the walls; it was coming through the area where the wall meets the floor, and also though cracks in the basement floor (there was a lot of water).
We had two companies come out and they gave us estimates on inside waterproofing. They said the whole house needed their systems installed. One estimate was for $10,000, and the other was for $12,000. We decided to get a third opinion, and called Downriver Waterproofing. After explaining my problem to Joe (the owner), he said that it didn't sound like a waterproofing problem to him, and although he was busy on another job, he would send out his supervisor, Gene. Within the hour, Gene knocked on our door. He went downstairs and opened up the cap to my storm sewer, and after taking a look, said it looked plugged. He got a hose and a bag and used them to blow out the drain-within ten minutes, water was gushing through the storm sewer, which had indeed been plugged. Gene left without taking a dime. The water continued to drain out of our storm sewer into the main sewer line in the road for about 4 hours, and we have had no problems since. The service provided was incredible, and we have and will continue to tell everybody to call Downriver Waterproofing for any basement water problems.

Downriver Waterproofing came out to our house in Southgate and waterproofed three walls in November 2004. Everything went great, and the most impressive thing was that two of the walls were considerably damaged and pushed in. Although we had two companies that said the walls had to be replaced, Joe and his crew came in and straightened the walls and braced them. They took the clay away and put stone around the house so they won't move again. The inspector said they did a great job and we couldn't agree more. The guys even took a twenty-foot workbench out of our basement that had been there since the 1950s. We are up in age and were very careful about who we chose to do the work, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. They truly are the specialists. Thanks, guys.
